Starting a new business..with new photos: Monika

When Monika first reached out to book her brand shoot, she wasn’t just looking for photos. She was stepping into an entirely new chapter of her life, one filled with hope, determination, and the inevitable nerves that come with leaving behind the familiar.

After years of working in a structured 9-5 environment, Monika was making the courageous decision to start her own practice as a CBT therapist. Her new business is rooted in compassion, transformation, and a deep desire to help others and she knew that telling that story visually would be key to making an authentic connection with future clients.

Monika came to me with a clear vision, and we worked together to create a session that felt aligned with the brand she was building: calm, welcoming, and grounded in trust. But like many things in life, the shoot day didn’t go exactly as planned. Traffic delays, unexpected heatwaves, you name it we had it! Yet through it all, Monika showed up with incredible grace and a sense of calm that mirrored the work she’s stepping into.

What struck me most about her was her openness. She trusted me completely to guide her through the session, to pose, to feel, to be seen. And when I sent over her gallery, her response moved me deeply:

“OH MY GOODNESS!!!! The photos are STUNNING… I’ve gone over them all again and again! I’ve never had photos like this before! These images mean so much to me. Zehra, you’ve been the very first step in my journey, and I’m so glad I chose you.”

Reading her message, I was reminded once again why I do this work- because personal brand photography isn’t just about polished images for a website or LinkedIn. It’s about capturing the moment someone says yes to themselves. Yes to their purpose. Yes to doing things their way.

Monika’s journey is still unfolding, and I know she’s going to touch so many lives through her work. It was an honour to photograph her at the very beginning of this new path, to reflect back to her the strength, empathy, and clarity that she’s bringing into her new venture.

Are you stepping into something new?
Whether you’re launching your first business, shifting gears in your career, or simply ready to show up more confidently online, having the right images can make all the difference. I’d love to crate something with you that doesn’t just represent what you do, but who you are.
