From Camera Shy to Camera Ready: Rebecca’s Brand Shoot Story
When Rebecca Woolam, founder of Kinder Coaching, reached out to book a half-day personal brand shoot in Manchester, she told me right away — “I’m not a fan of the camera.” Like many women in business, Rebecca is at the heart of her brand, but when it came to getting in front of the lens, she felt nervous and a little self-conscious.
And you know what? That’s completely normal!
Personal brand photography isn’t just about creating polished images — it’s about helping brilliant women like Rebecca step into their power, feel seen, and feel confident representing their business visually.
Rebecca’s businesses centre around kindness, understanding, and authenticity — and it was important to reflect that. We worked together using mood boards to capture her brand colours and aesthetic, and to bring out the calm, grounded energy that defines her coaching approach.
Here’s what she had to say after our shoot:
“The experience was relaxed and enjoyable from beginning to end. I have absolutely no creative eye and am not a fan of the camera so branding for me, especially personal branding, is a real sticking point.
Zehra understood my business(es!) and brought everything together using mood boards to capture colours, aesthetic and the essence of me as an individual and as the face of my businesses! She made me so comfortable in the shoot, she arranged all the props, my hair, directed me with clothes for shots – you name it, it was all in hand.
We had planned to use a content studio and a coffee shop and then maybe my premises. However, we got so many varied high quality shots (that I actually liked — I usually hate pictures of me!) in the content studio I chose to leave the other venues.
Zehra is that talented, capturing so much efficiently and effectively. If you are pushed for time – she is your go-to for high quality personal branding content!”
We shot everything in a Manchester content studio and within just a few hours, created a full collection of on-brand, versatile images that Rebecca can now use confidently across her website, social media, and marketing materials.
Why a Personal Brand Shoot Matters
So many women-led businesses in Manchester are built on passion, purpose, and personality — yet many founders shy away from being visible in their brand. I hear it all the time: “I don’t like photos of myself,” “I’m not sure what to wear,” “I feel awkward.”
But a personal brand shoot isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up as you are — professional, real, and ready to make an impact.
Whether you’re a coach like Rebecca, a consultant, a creative or a founder, professional photography helps build trust and connection with your audience. It says: “This is me. This is what I do. And I’m here to help you.”
If you’ve been putting off your brand shoot because you feel shy or unsure where to start — I’d love to help. I specialise in working with women in business across Manchester and Cheshire, guiding you every step of the way, from planning to posing.
You don’t need to have it all figured out — you just need to start. I’ll take care of the rest.
